Stories…..

Stories. I love to hear people’s stories.  I particularly love hearing stories of how God has worked in someone’s life.  When I was in college I was involved in a Christian group.  We met as a large group, once a week, and we had a time set aside for people to share what God had done in their lives that week.  My absolute favorite time!!  So, so, so encouraging!!  There’s nothing like ‘seeing God’ in the lives of others that increases one’s faith.

That is why I am sharing this video of Colton Dixon— “Through All Of It”–a song I love combined with stories–of God working in others’ lives.   When I watched this video–I saw suffering people.  God was with them through their suffering.    God didn’t just see them through—God worked miracles in each of their lives.

I don’t know about you—but I’m in need of God seeing me through.  I’m in need of God’s miracles.  Mostly, and above all–I’m in need of God!

Hoping you watch this video–and that you join me in—BEING ENCOURAGED!!

(I would love to hear your stories as well—if you would write them in the comments–that would be such an encouragement to me and others!!  Or perhaps include a link to one of your blogs, that would encourage the rest of us!!)

  1. Katie,
I often see God at work in affirming something that I’ve just heard, said, or experienced. I’m in a small group with some women who are experiencing extremely difficult things in this season of their life. Immediately after our group ended this week, a woman who had expressed something saw a post online that pretty much said the very same thing and it was posted by the author she was quoting.

She had expressed that God is teaching her to trust Him, that she’s not in control, (and “He’s good, He’s good to me and He’s good at being God,” -Lysa TerKeurst).

Then, the next day’s verse of the day in YouVersion had as part of it another specific conversation we had the night before in group. I feel so affirmed and cared about when this happens.

This was part of the devotion with the verse of the day: “Jesus’ response does not promise us that faith guarantees our every desire will be realized. Faith isn’t a license for wish fulfillment. Instead, it challenges us to recognize God’s supreme power and ability to fulfill His will, His way (Mark 1:40-42). True faith always comes under the authority of God’s sovereignty.
